Your Wicked Enemies

isn't it amazing how far you've come
yet their faith is still undone
they pick at flaws long unseen
'least by you, but they still see
they waltz the room with noses raised
without a care, they're never swayed
their belief is all that counts
how they feel is what amounts
you can't change them though you try
they crucify you without cry
they stone you and kill you off
with vicious words and hate they love
still you brave life's highest standards
mostly fueled by enemies
you stand on justice, truth and love
yet they cast you to the wolves
their burning tongue lights wildfires
they push you in and turn an eye
they have a feast at your expense
they drink and toast upon your death
but soon one day when entertained
by all the damage they have made
they'll be pulled up like wicked weeds
what they have sowed, they finally reap
then the Kingdom’s yours for taking

from afar, you'll hear them weeping

their vile ways will be avenged

by your loving God’s defense

Ellie,
Your poem is amazing! So inspiring and timeless!! I can see those wolves today too. The writing is on the wall and I'll celebrate the day when "they'll be pulled up like wicked weeds"!! Bless your Heart and thank you for your words!!

Alex~ Thanks, I'm glad you thought so. I really didn't think it was my best work, but I felt the need to express how people including family hurt you with their unkind remarks and their ignorance. Inspite of everything, they still cast stones. It's a real shame they don't know the meaning of love.

I am thnking, I needed to read this today. Your words ring true. And although I am not one for revenge; instead of feeling twisted inside now, butterflies flutter.

Beautiful. I stand on justice, truth, and love too. Regardless of how many wolves swarm me. ;)

I'm not one for revenge either SarahA, that's why I leave them in God's hands. It's always better that way! :) xo

Karen~ It's good to know I'm not alone. Those wolves can growl all they want but they can't bite! :)

They give us the opportunity to open our heart even more to love....
but sometimes its nice to have a gardian angel to help us through.

i would like to be yours for today....and put my wings around you !

Srong, and swollening with emotions, What a powerful way to let it go.....
May the light come to reveal the glory of your soul!
hug you, so strong Ellie!

Today our pastor reminded us to love our enemies, to do for those who curse us.

This is a beautiful poem. Thank you for sharing it, Ellie.

Ellie, this post reminds me of how my family sometimes wants to cast stones at me... because I'm so imperfect by their standards. But, what is important to me is that I know I'm not perfect, and God still loves me, for who I am. Those that are deceived by believing they are among God's most favored saints, are going to be shocked come judgement day! You depicted this perfectly, Ellie! Much love to you :)

Craftsman~ Thank God for guardian angels and for the love and comfort good friends provide, it's what makes up for all the evil our enemies weave. Thank you for your sweet words!

Janna~ sometimes a hard thing to do, but I must agree. We can only love them, no more eye for an eye.

Roxy~ I think we are twins. ;) I actually wrote this from the pain my family has caused. The healing is slow yet steady. I can only sum up with this: "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" Mat 7:22-23 NIV
Be encouraged in knowing that we will see justice one day! hugs*
