Rescuing the Words

when do I find the words
to make the story alive
to keep the memory awake
so it no longer dies
how do i write the words
on the bark of a tree
in the water on waves
in the heart of the sea

why do i hide the words
on a shelf full of dust
in a cluttered dark chest
or behind the moon's light
how do i rescue the words
from the pendulum's end
from the guillotine's death
from the silence ahead

Hi Ellie

I like these ruminations...

Perhaps you don't have to...
words are just the symbols to represent those things held in memory and in the heart...

Unless of course there is someone that would benefit from knowing...

Happy days

Words liberates us...we live through what we are able to say and unable to say.
in sanskrit 'word ' signifies 'that which is indestructible'.....

And in the Vedas, they believe that the words spring out from the navel of immortality.

As for me, i love Eliie and her words, You are an angel who can speak :-)

Ellie,
Wow!! It's awsome how you relate to something we just take for granted... Words get lost, so many are used without giving them any meaning. We should use them with respect. "Rescue" is the perfect word to remind that.
Great Write!! Love it!!

Craftsman~ You are always too kind! Thank you for sharing those translations of 'word'. I especially like the Vedas one, something to think on.

Alex~ truly we do take words for granted. Sometimes we just can't find the right words or we say the wrong ones. Thanks sweetie!
